Lisa Cicotte’s Lyrical Abstractions
Lisa Cicotte has been painting for over forty years. Her poetic and lyrical paintings express deeply personal and psychological concerns while being firmly in place within the tradition of American abstract painting.
Her mastery of color, organic and abstract forms, references to landscape or figurative art, or the more architectural constructive elements, are offered as allusions to both art history as well as our own living environment.
The work presented here displays Lisa Cicotte’s mature period, away from experimentation and beholding to her lifelong commitment to an art that is both expressive of her inner thought and connected to our common humanity.
Lisa divides her time between her studio in Oaxaca, Mexico and her studio in Stockholm, Wisconsin.
